| PLAN The plan is simple: use whatever you can, whenever you can to complete the missions of love. We will use every tool to reach our goals of maintaining healthy relationships. And yet, we remember…it is not about the doing, but the being. Here are some of our Missions in Action right now: Jane Jones Beca Program (JJB) is a scholarship/after school program which helps make it possible for youth to return to public school. Students from economically troubled families are provided with not only the scholarship funds but also mentoring as they strive to continue their education. The program is currently located in San Jose, Costa Rica, Central America. The Jane Jones Beca Program provides all the necessary equipment to return to public school such as books, paper, writing utensils, school uniforms, shoes, bus passes, and other school related expenses such as funds for copies and even field trips. The program is more than a hand out, however. The program requires that the students attend an after school study program 2 nights a week. At the study night, they are served a home cooked meal and then study time commences, with additional tutoring available if necessary. The Jane Jones Beca Program is an environment where good character and attitude towards classmates and fellow JJB participants is required. Attendance in both school and the after school study nights is required, for both teach precepts such as accountability and reliability. An atmosphere of learning is encouraged as well as the value of caring for others above yourself. In encouraging not only academic learning but also lessons about life giving precepts, it is the hope of the JJB Program to “not to just catch fish for people but to put a pole in each hand so that each one may catch for themselves.” To bring Spiritual awareness is a fundamental, inherent truth is part of the foundation of Missions Impossible International. The revelation that there is a God who loves each person, no matter what their social or economic status may be is not only relevant, but a core value of who we are. Many of the students in the JJB program only have dirt for floors in their homes. Many count on the meal on study night for at least one warm meal of the day. Many students may not lack for food constantly, but find themselves in the midst of distractions or outright dangerous situations, even at home. Missions Impossible International is devoted to helping the poor of the poor through programs such as the Jane Jones Beca Program. Once knowledge is obtained, it is yours forever. No person, and no thing can take away that knowledge. That is why we are devoted to facilitating, tutoring, and mentoring students, especially the poor. COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL (COIN) Our community outreach programs reach people where they are. For some, like youth, it means participating in sports like basketball and soccer. For some it means listening to music, in the form of free concerts. For some, it means Cookouts and hanging out by the grill. And for others, it means a weekly Bible study. At our Jane Jones Community Center in Los Triangulos, (free) Movie Nights have become a popular event for youth and adults! Our “Door Of Hope” volunteer discipleship program is designed to encourage young people to make good, healthy choices in life. Our Intern Program was created out of the need to give people who are considering life “in the mission field” for mid to long term internationally. Opportunities to learn cultural skills, languages, and vocational skills are available to be learned and utilized in outreach to the poor. We also facilitate international teams. Teams are a great way for small groups of people to make a big impact, both internationally and at home. We network with other organizations to maximize our efforts to bring relief and support to the poor all over the world. One of these organizations is Children Without Borders. They are benefiting from use of the Jane Jones Center. From the Center, they are able to give free medical care to children four days a week. | | |
